As we have seen from past many years, Google is known to have some updates near the X-Mas or Year end, same is started happening this time, we have first December Page Rank Update from Google, However earlier Google Search Spam head said that he is unlikely to expect and PR update this year, but actually it happened today itself on 6th Dec, 2013.
Here at Megrisoft, our in-house research team analyzed the data of various websites to know actual facts about this PR update and found that it has been mixed update, some websites got increase in Page Rank, while some faced decreased PR also. The PR dropped specially for the ones who have been removing/cleaning back links to escape from next Google Penguin updates or who have cleaned their back links due to some type of warning or penalty from Google.
Page rank is one of the factors from 100’s which Google counts in search algorithm, however PR seems not having much importance after recent updates like Panda, Penguin, EMD or Hummingbird, Google also repeatedly said that PR is not counted in ranking or having much value. So we also think that Domain Authority, Page Authority, Quality Contents and Social Media activities are what which mostly counts in age of these algorithms.
